Food and wine pairing is certainly not a new idea, but let's be realistic for a moment. How many wineries tell you their wines pair well with dishes like abalone, grilled venison, or rack of lamb? Those are all great eats, but honestly who has the time to track down esoteric ingredients and spices, spend hours in the kitchen, and drop more money buying ingredients you're going to use one time than if you had just gone out to dinner. We love drinking our wines with great food too. However, we like to eat things that we can actually prepare at home on any day of the week.

We challenged our first contributing Chef, Shannon Spicer to develop some great food pairing using fresh ingredients, that are easily accessible. What she developed for us was perfect, classic American fare with a wine country twist. Shannon has years of experience in the kitchen, built on a foundation of skills acquired during her education at the California Culinary Academy.
